Standard wire shelving racks include four steel poles, usually consisting of 3 to 6 feet in height, unless you are going to buy a utility cart. With shelves
that are 18 or 24 inches deep and 3 or 4 feet wide. Wire Shelves have openings and have four holes on the corners where the poles insert
and little plastic clips connect
the shelving together. The shelves are held on
groves by the poles usually running every inch. Individual shelves can be
put at any height and moved up and down when the unit is fully assembled without
taking apart the unit or moving the other shelves.
No tools are required to assemble or disassemble these shelves although a
rubber mallet is useful.
Wire shelving is used in a broad range of commercial and home applications. It is
often used in restaurant and food service applications due to its ability to stay
clean and resist rust and mold. It's also used by retailers and in industrial applications.
It is used in home kitchens as well. Wire shelving is excellent in areas where fire
prevention is stressed because its open design allows sprinkler systems to function
where sold shelving might block water flow.
